About Me
Hello everyone! I am Bryce Ridenour and I am a 26 year old, who recently finished up a Graduate Assistant Manager position with the UCLA Women’s Basketball team. While working at UCLA, I was also able to acquire a Master’s Degree in Executive Coaching and Consultation from Concordia University.
During my senior year of college at Point Loma Nazarene University (Class of 2018), the most common question that everyone asks is, “What are you going to do next?” Everyone loves that question and I really questioned what I was going to do in these next steps ahead. I just got my degree in Business - Marketing, while obtaining a minor in Communication, but I quickly realized that I did not want to pursue a career in marketing. I am appreciative of the degree, but I just did not see myself in that industry moving forward. And so, Cori Close, the Head Coach of the UCLA Women’s Basketball team and a close family friend of mine, offered me the Graduate Assistant Manager position at UCLA, which is a 20 month stint. I was thrilled and so thankful for the opportunity, but with this becoming a reality, I had to figure out what I wanted to study!
After talking to close family and friends, I started to realize my passion and what I wanted to do with my life. I love people, relationships and helping lead others to positive change and growth. I love hearing what is on the hearts of those around me, what they are processing, struggling with, celebrating and whatever is on their mind. And most of all, I love see the light bulb go off or experiencing those “ah ha” moments, because that often times leads to growth.
And so, I knew what I was passionate about, but I did not know if there was a career that fit my passions. Well, I quickly learned that I was wrong after reading about the Executive Coaching and Consultation Master’s Program from Concordia University. This program is one about helping others discover more about who they are so that they can grow and then create a ripple effect of positive growth and change amongst those that they come into contact with. I quickly chose this and immediately enrolled in classes. I am now over a year in and I have battled thoughts of being too young and not having enough credibility. With that being said, I am so thankful that I have stuck with it because I have learned so much already and have been encouraged by many friends, classmates, and professors that this is something that I can do well. All in all, I am excited to continue to learn more and prepare myself for a career in this industry.
As you might have noticed there is a photography section on my website and that is because I studied abroad in Seville, Spain for the spring semester of my sophomore year of college. This experience was amazing and was one that I never wanted to forget and so I created this website to capture my thoughts, what I had been processing and lastly, pictures to remember. I experienced a ton of growth over those 4 months and all of what I was processing and learning can be found under the “Blog” section. I am now transitioning this website into a personal website that will bring more emphasis to the Blog section and less on the photography. In this new season, I am excited to continue to share my heart and the things that I have been processing, learning, growing in and the struggles and negative realities that life can have.
So a little bit more about me. I am Christian who loves Jesus and who wants to continually learn more about Him and how to love others like He did and does. And ultimately, my plan is to connect with you all through my writing and in conversation to hopefully bring hope, joy, and light into a world that is full of brokenness. Thank you for reading more about who I am. I’d love to connect with you!
